Hopefully Mr. Rishab Pant, the flashy millionaire cricketer will recover from the injuries after getting discharged from the Hospital. The next thing which will follow is likely he will go for rehabilitation from injuries and practice and Play cricket but may not practice and drive. The Indian system has to be fine tuned to arrest the cricketer for reckless driving, for causing injuries to self and created a potential harm to other road users. What would have happened had the burning and rolling car hit a petroleum products loaded trucks which are frequenting these highways ? or for that matter even hitting the bus, whose crew helped Mr. Pant timely to come out of the car to safety.
Mr. Rishab has to be sent to the prison for over speeding, reckless & Rash driving. This will give a strong message to all those drivers who drive out of arrogance, ignorance and influence of alcohol.
Even in a Cricket field, Mr. Pant is well known for reckless batting and getting out easily.
In the road too, the same attitude, arrogance and affluence has caused this incident, One report says Pant dozed off and another one says pant tried to avoid a pot hole. Like we had mentioned in the article https://pedestrian-first-campaign.blogspot.com/2022/09/no-more-mystery-no-mercy.html high speed driving is killing many lives and India is the world leader in Road accident deaths. There also the Lady doctor who was driving the vehicle, causing the death of Industrialist Mr. Cyrus mistry, has been a repeated offender. https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/mumbai/cyrus-mistry-death-anahita-pandole-speeding-8327725/ . She was issued challans seven times for over speeding. Had she been arrested and course corrected then itself, two lives could have been saved ?
In Mr. Pant's case, there is a video interview in which another famous cricketer Mr. Shikhar Dhawan giving advice to slow down his driving speed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MW87oFkduks
Both Mr. Pant and Dr.(Ms). Anahita Pandole have to be re-trained in prison for driving a vehicle and re-tested on road and in simulator before re-issuing their driving licences. Their existing driving licenses have to be cancelled. Then only all MISHAP prone pants and aunts will be more careful before touching the wheels.

Only when high end celebrities are caught and taught lessons, people in everyday life will take the Indian driving licensing system seriously and will be aware to take care of themselves and have concern for others life. We need to ensure roads are safe for everyone.
Please forward this article to Supreme Court and High court Judges, DGPs of all states, PMO, CMs of all states as we have lost several lives , limbs, livelihoods in road accidents in the past years.
At the time of dawning of a New year 2023, it should not be another number, Road safety is the priority than speed. Lives are more important than earning money and everything else.
Every Road has to be designed with PEDESTRIANS as the FIRST priority, as the Pedestrian is non-polluting ( so doing for climate change ), least space occupying and the real symbol of democracy.
