Responsible Citizens iYakkam conducted a signature campaign to urge the State Government construct a Pedestrian signal & foot under /over bridge for pedestrians at Velachery- Vijayanagar Junction signal on 29th May 2014.

In India- Most of the roads have little space for pedestrians. In Chennai, capital city of Southern most state-Tamilnadu, Most of the roads & signals does not have provision for Pedestrians.

Pedestrians are the :
  • Least Polluting
  • Least Space using
  • Slowest Entity  

For these Reasons - Pedestrians should be given the top most priority on the roads.

A Country can be said truly safe only when a pedestrian feels safe to walk on the roads.
