சாலையிலும் சுதந்திரம்

When India is celebrating 75 years of Independence from slavery, there are still areas in ground reality, freedom is not freely available.

அடிமை சங்கிலியில் இருந்து விடுதலை பெற்று 75 வது ஆண்டை கொண்டாடும் வேளையில் நாம் இன்னமும் சுதந்திரம் பெற வேண்டிய தடைகள் நம்மை இன்னும் கட்டியே போட்டுள்ளது.

One thing every conscious Indian, who care for others, will agree that, THE PEDESTRIANS, are the most vulnerable and least protected on the Indian Roads, yet to get anything to close to getting freedom to use roads safely.

சாலையில் இன்றும் மிக ஆபத்திற்குள்ளாக கூடிய பாதுகாப்பற்ற சூழ்நிலையில் சாலையை பயன்படுத்துபவர்களில் பாதசாரிகளே முன்னிலையில் உள்ளனர் என்பதை அனைத்து அக்கறை உள்ள இந்தியர்களும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்வர்.

The real denominator for value for life can be easily perceived on every day today life on roads. How much a pedestrian feels safe on Indian roads ???. On Human life value Index, what is the value for a pedestrian's life on Indian Roads ???  Every penny spent by the Indian Governments in State and Central, more value is given for infrastructure developments and importance is given for increasing the speed of vehicles.

நமது உயிரின் மதிப்பை சாலைகளில் கால் வைத்த உடனே அறிந்துக் கொள்ளலாம். பாதசாரிகள் எந்தளவிற்கு சாலையில் பாதுகாப்பாக உணர்கிறார்கள் ??  மனித உயிர் மதீப்பிடு அளவீடுகளில் இந்திய சாலைகளில் பாதசாரியின் உயிரின் மதிப்பென்ன ? மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகளின் சாலை மேம்பாட்டிற்காக செலவு செய்வதில் அதிக முக்கியத்துவம் வண்டிகளின் வேகத்தை மேம்படுத்தவே செலவழிக்கபடுகிறது.

Millions are spent on flyovers for vehicles but for Pedestrians negligible amount is only spent

India like many other developing countries are focusing more on buildings, bridges, rail networks , high end cars , bikes and their speed as the sign of development. 

பல வளரும் நாடுகளைப் போல் இந்தியாவும் கட்டிடங்கள், பாலங்கள், ரயில் இணைப்புகள், விலையுயர்ந்த கார்கள், பைக்குகள் மற்றும் அவற்றின் வேகத்தையே வளர்ச்சியின் அளவுகோலாக கொள்கின்றனர். 

On every other case, every political party would like to call themselves as the champions of under privileged, down trodden, marginalized based on castes, religions, economical status but the real thing on roads, The Pedestrian fall under all categories, as most of the pedestrians are under privileged, down trodden, marginalized and neglected to just a feet on harshest part of the road but is never a vote bank.

இந்தியாவில் அனேக அரசியல் கட்சிகள் தாங்கள் ஜாதி , மத ரீதியாக மிகவும் பின் தங்கியவர்கள், ஏழ்மையில் இருப்பவர்கள், உடல் உழைப்பாளிகள் போன்றவர்களுக்காகவே போராடுவதாக தோற்றம் தருகின்றனர். ஆனால் மேல் சொன்ன அனைத்து பிரிவகளிலும் அடங்கக் கூடிய , பாதசாரிகளை, அவர்கள் தனித்த ஓட்டு வங்கியாக இல்லாததால் பாதசாரிகளின் தேவைகளை கண்டுகொள்வதில்லை.

Yes, India, as a country has made tremendous progress in various fields in the last 75 years. Lot of technocrats have evolved and successfully able to come to the highest position in hierarchy and are able to buy whole space occupying vehicles and crowding the roads.

நிச்சயமாக கடந்த 75 ஆண்டுகளில் பல துறைகளில் இந்தியா முன்னேறியுள்ளது. பல துறைகளில் பல நாடுகளில் இந்தியர்களால் பல உயர் பதவிகளை அடைய முடிந்ததுடன் அதன் மூலமாக சாலைகளை அடைக்கும் அளவிற்கு ஒரு தனிமனிதன் பயணிக்க கூடிய அளவிற்கு ஆடம்பரங்களையும் வழங்கி வருகிறது.

Vehicles are able to increase their running speeds but the slowest moving entity of the road are not able to even cross 100 metres across the road and have to jump the medians on the main roads. The pedestrian, which includes both Humans and animals, are considered as a nuisance and hindrance to the high speed vehicles. 

வண்டிகளின் வேகமும் சக்தியும் பலமும் நாளுக்கு நாள் அதிகரித்து வருகிறது ஆனால் சாலைகளின் மிகவும் பலவீனமான உறுப்பினரான பாதசாரியால் சாலையில் ஒரு 100 மீட்டரை கூடக் கடக்க முடியவில்லை. பாதசாரிகளான மனிதர்களும் மிருகங்களும் சாலையில் ஒரு தொந்தரவாகவே இடையூராகவே பார்க்கப்படுகின்றனர்.

Among all the vehicles on the roads, Public transport vehicles transport maximum number of passengers who are Pedestrians. All the vehicle users have to realize they are also Pedestrians from the point of parking the Vehicles and walking up to the nearest shop or stores.

சாலைகளில் ஓடும் வண்டிகளில் பொது போக்குவரத்தை பயன்படுத்துபவர்கள் பாதசாரிகளே. வண்டிகளில் வருபவர்களும் வண்டிகளை விட்டு இறங்கியபின் கடைகளுக்கு நடந்து செல்ல வேண்டிய இடங்களில் தாங்களும் பாதசாசிகளே என்பதை உணர வேண்டும். 

Though Indians could buy the expensive cars, Gadgets, food habits of the western world but the main thing to copy from the western world, especially from Scandinavian countries like Norway , Finland, Sweden, Netherlands is to respect the pedestrian and cyclists.  ( pl read this article https://nordicroads.com/nordic-capitals-are-prioritising-pedestrians/ )

இந்தியர்கள் மேலை நாட்டினரை போல் காப்பியடித்து பல விலை உயர்ந்த கார்கள், பொருட்கள் வாங்கியும் அவர்களது உடை, உணவு முறைகளை காப்பி அடிக்கின்றனர் ஆனால் நம்மவர்கள் அவர்களிடமிருந்து குறிப்பாக வட ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளான நார்வே, ஸ்வீடன், பின்லாந்து , நெதர்லாந்து போல நாமும் பாதசாரிகளையும் சைக்கிளில் செலவதையும் பெருமையாகவும் அவர்களை கவுரபடுத்தி வாழ கற்க வேண்டும்.

Even a fully aware and very conscious drivers in India have least regard for human lives and in addition more than 50% of the vehicle drivers / riders drive their vehicle in inebriated condition. Though the official statistics on road accidents involving pedestrians reveal only 10% of the actual accidents happening on the road. There are many hit and run cases where number of pedestrians are injured or maimed, happening every minute across India, Only few cases are reported to the transport / police authorities.

இந்தியாவில் நல்ல தெளிவுடன் இருக்கும் ஓட்டுனர்களே பாதசாரிகளை மதிப்பதில்லை இந்த கொடுமைக்கு கூடுதலாக இந்தியாவில் பலரும் மது போதையில் வண்டிகளை அலட்சியமாக ஓட்டுகின்றனர். பாதசாரிகளுக்கு ஏற்படும் விபத்துகளில் 10% அளவிற்குத்தான் பதிவாகிறது. மிகப் பெரும்பான்மையாக இந்திய சாலைகளில் ஒவ்வொரு நிமிடத்திலும் பல பாதசாரிகளுக்கு பல காயங்கள் ஏற்படுகிறது உறுப்புகள் இழப்புகள் முதல் உயிர் இழப்பு வரை நடப்பதில் மிக சிலது மட்டுமே போக்குவரத்து துறை மற்றும் காவல் துறைகளின் கவனத்திற்கு வருகிறது.

For Vehicles to save few seconds, in many cities across India, Pedestrians are losing hours, days, months and in worst cases their lives on the road or hit on the roads.

வண்டிகள் சில நொடிகள் சேமிக்க , இந்தியாவின் பல நகரங்களிலும், பாதசாரிகள் தங்கள் வாழ்நாளில் சில மணி நேரங்கள், நாட்கள், மாதங்கள் ஏன் உயிரையும் கூட இழக்கிறார்கள்.

India, being a over populous country with densely populated cities, naturally tending to ignore or neglect which is in excess, No. of Humans. the quantity in excess, so quality of life is decreasing. On this day of celebrating 75th year of Independence, every Indian should take responsibility for fellow human beings. Not just humans, every animal using the roads are also pedestrians. They do need care and love for living. 

மிக அதிக மக்கள் தொகையினால், எண்ணிக்கை அதிகம் இருப்பதாலேயே, உயிரின் மதிப்பு மிகக் குறைந்து வாழ்க்கையின் தரம் குறைந்து வருகிறது. இந்தியாவின் 75 வது விடுதலை திருநாள் கொண்டாடப்படும் வேளையில் ஒவ்வொரு இந்தியரும் தனது சக உயிருக்காக பொறுப்பேற்க வேண்டும். மனிதர்களை மட்டுமல்ல சாலையை பயனபடுத்தும் மற்ற உயிரினங்களையும் மதித்து அவர்கள் வாழ்வதற்கும் பொறுப்பான சூழலை உருவாக்க வேண்டும்.

To become a developed Country, India has to improve upon its "Life Value Index (Human )". It is not just the Government who has to ensure this, it is we the people, The Responsible Citizens of this great country have to create the atmosphere. Roads are the most used part of human life and it is there a common man / woman can perceive how much we are taken care by the society. This responsibility is a cycle, when I care for others life and my life will be taken care by others. So from this day, when we are celebrating "Amrut (Nectar ) Mahotsav ( Festival ), let us start by stopping for pedestrians and allow them to peacefully use the road. Respecting Lives by giving First Priority to the Pedestrians. 

இந்தியா ஒரு வளர்ந்த நாடாக "உயிரின் மதிப்பு அளவீடு" வளர வேண்டும். இதனை அரசாங்கம் மட்டுமே செய்ய முடியாது, இந்தியர் ஒவ்வொருவரும் , இதனை தனது பொறுப்பாக, இந்த நாட்டின் வளர்ச்சிக்கு தங்கள் பங்களிப்பை வழங்க வேண்டும்.  சாலைகளே பொதுமக்கள் அதிகம் பயன்படுத்தும் ஒரு பொது இடம் ஆகும். இங்கு தான் தன்னை இந்த சமூகம், நாடு எந்த அளவிற்கு காக்கிறது என்று உணர முடிகிறது. இந்த பொறுப்புணர்ச்சி ஒரு சங்கிலியாகும். தனி ஒருவன் சக உயிரை காப்பேன் என்ற பொறுப்பை ஏற்கும் போது அந்த சங்கிலி நம்மையும் காக்கும். இந்தியாவின் அமுத திருநாளை கொண்டாடும் வேளையில் உயிர் என்ற அமுதத்தை காக்கும் பொருட்டு நாம் ஒவ்வொருவரும் வண்டி ஓட்டும் போதும் பாதசாரிக்காக வண்டிகளை நிறுத்தி பாதசாரிகள் நிதானமாக சாலையை கடக்க வழி செய்வோம். பாதசாரிகளுக்கு முன்னுரிமை அளித்து உயிர்களை போற்றுவோம். பொறுப்புள்ள சமுதாயம் சமைப்போம்.
