கடந்த ஜனவரி, பிப்ரவரியில் மேலே கொடுத்திருக்கும் இரண்டு பதிவுகளில் பாதசாரிகள் சாலையில் படும் அவதிகளையும் அதிலும் தமிழ்நாட்டின் மிகப் பெரிய சட்டமன்ற தொகுதியான வேளச்சேரியில் சாலையில் போதிய வசதிகள் இல்லாமல் பாதசாரிகள் படும் பாட்டை விவரித்திருந்தோம்.

In the above posts posted here in January and February 2022, Responsible Citizens iYakkam (RCi) have highlighted the difficulties faced by pedestrians in many highways and roads. Especially we had highlighted the agonies of Pedestrians in Tamil Nadu's one of the biggest assembly constituency, Velachery, part of Greater Chennai City.

பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கம் சார்பாக சென்னை போக்குவரத்து காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகள், நெடுஞ்சாலை துறை அதிகாரிகள், சென்னை மாநகராட்சி வேளச்சேரி வார்டு உறுப்பினர்கள், குடியிருப்போர் நல சங்கங்கள், சமூக ஆர்வலர்கள் என்று பலரையும் இது குறித்து அணுகினோம்.

In this regard, RCi had approached Greater Chennai city Traffic Police, Highways Department, Chennai Corporation, Residents associations, social activists to highlight the plights of pedestrians.

சாலையில் முக்கிய களப்பணியாற்றும் நெடுஞ்சாலை துறை மற்றும் போக்குவரத்து காவல் துறையிடமிருந்தும் நம்பிக்கையான பதில்கள் கிடைத்தன. இதில் நெடுஞ்சாலை தூறையின் முதன்மை இயக்குனர் அவர்கள் நமது மனு கிடைக்க பெற்று அதனை துறையின் மூத்த அதிகாரிகள் அனுப்பிவிட்டு அந்த நகலையும் நமது இயக்கத்திற்கு அனுப்பியுள்ளார்.

We got good response from both Traffic Police and Highways department with their positive replies. Especially reply letter received from Director General of Highways, where in DG's office had marked copy to all the departments' Chief Engineers with a copy to us, is a great sign of commitment from Highways Department towards Pedestrian Safety.

அதன்படி இரண்டு துறைகளிலும் பாதசாரிகளுக்கு பாதுகாப்பான சூழலை உருவாக்கினால் கால்கள் வலிக்க சாலையை பயன்படுத்தும் ஒவ்வொரு பாதசாரியும் இந்த அதிகாரிகளை மனதார போற்றுவர். நமக்கு பொறுப்பாக பதில் அளித்த நெடுஞ்சாலை துறை, போக்குவரத்து காவல் துறை, மாநகராட்சி அதிகாரிகள் அனைவரின் பொறுப்பான நடவடிக்கைகளையும் பொறுப்புள்ள குடிமக்கள் இயக்கம் பொறுப்புடன் வாழ்த்துகிறது.

If the responses translates in to action, Pedestrians walking lot of pain and strains on the road will be thanking the authorities for every effort taken to ensure safety of the Pedestrians. RCi responsibly thanks every official in all the departments who had answered to us responsibly on this sensitive issue.

சாலையில் ஒவ்வொரு பாதுகாப்பான பயணமும் ஒரு பொறுப்புள்ள சமுதாயம் அமைவதற்கு ஒரு மைல்கல். ஒரு நாடு ஒரு நகரம் எத்தனை பொறுப்புடன் ந்டந்து கொள்கிறது என்பதை அந்த நாட்டின் சாலைகளில் பாதசாரியின் உயிருக்கு எந்த அளவிற்கு மதிப்பு, அக்கறை, பாதுகாப்பு கிடைக்கிறது என்பதே சிறந்த அளவுகோலாகும்.

Every safer journey on the road is a sign of development of a Responsible society. The respect, protection and value for life a pedestrian receives on the road is the yard stick to measure the Responsibility Index of a City, State or a Country.

வேளச்சேரியில் நமது இயக்கம் -பாதசாரிகளுக்கான கடவு பாதைகளை செயற்கைகோள் படங்களில் குறிப்பிட்டு அதிகாரிகளிடம் வழங்கியுள்ளோம். அவை இங்கே பார்வைக்காக.

We have marked the zones in satellite pictures where the safe restrained crossing is needed with 3D Zebra crossing with sign boards and traffic signals to the authorities.
